Description	Lindley Hall prior to addition of wings. Women and cars in South Court Street. Reproduction of a card photograph. Lindley Hall was built as a residence hall for female students in 1917. Located on South Court Street, it faced Ewing Hall. The north wing was added in 1939, and the south wing in 1951. Lindley Hall is named in honor of Jacob Lindley, OU's first president, 1809-1822 . Currently, Lindley Hall houses the academic departments of Aerospace Studies (Air Force ROTC), African-American Studies, Anthropology and Sociology, Interdisciplinary Arts, School of Film, the McClure School of Information and Telecommunication Systems, and Military Science (Army ROTC). The Office for Multicultural Student Access and Retention (formerly the Office for Diversity) is located on the ground floor of the building.
